Work at Home Scams reappear

Below is an example of a letter that I occasionally receive concerning making good money while working at home. I did not solicit a work at home job, nor did I visit Careerbuilder.com at any time so that is the first clue.
Here is how this works. They will ask you to process payments for their USA operations. They will tell you it is easier to deal with you than to work through a bank. They will send you checks and you will cash them and send the money on. This is normally an illegal activity they are asking you to participate in. Many times the checks you receive are from people being duped. In the end you have taken the checks and sent them on and YOU become responsible for those checks. NEVER EVER cash a check for anyone other than for Yourself and NEVER refund or send cash to another party. A version of this scam is the Hotel or Guide Scam. A person books a hotel room or a fishing guide and sends a check for too much money saying they need you to forward the rest of the money on to their booking agent. The check bounces or is a fraud and you are stuck with the entire balance. CERTIFIED CHECKS are often used for this because they give more confidence to the person cashing, but often these are forgeries that you will be held responsible for.
