The Liberal Scam

I was born a Democrat. I was raised a Democrat. My hero was John F. Kennedy. I supported the Viet Nam War, I did not want to see the spread of the red stain, across asia. I felt at the time that we were helping the Vietnamese People and that they deserved our help to keep from being run over by the communists.
The only vote I ever made for a Republican was for Nixon. I do not recall why other than McCarthy was just too darn liberal for me.
My change from Liberal to Conservative started with a realization.
I wanted life to be fair. I said that once to my good friend and enabler Mike. Mike owned his own business and his first child had died of SIDS. I was explaining to him why a friend should get help for an arm torn off by a machine. Mike finally blew up, he told me that “Life is not Fair” it can not be made fair. If life was fair then his son would not be dead.
That was a life changing moment for me. I finally realized that fair is NOT part of the America I grew up in. We are not all born with good health, we are not all born with genius brains, we can not all play music, sing, or even have all our limbs. Life is NOT FAIR.
My next realization came when a priest I knew told me an old saying… “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, TEACH him to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”
My change to a compassionate conservative had begun. Most people think if you vote for Republicans you are a Rascist… but the truth is that the Republican Party, is responsible for most of the current legislation that gave Blacks the vote, and the legislation of the 60’s which created equal rights. It was Democrats in the south who kept blacks out of the schoolhouse. I digress.
I discovered that the Democrats who I had believed in were actually enabling the enslavement of poor whites and blacks. Making them dependent on the Democratic Party. How can I say that? Well it is fairly easy, since the truth is that welfare is meant to Give people fish, not teach them too fish. Think about it, we enable poor white and black women to have children without any husband and support them. We give them AFDC, and other monies, and when the kids are grown and have moved out we give them Social Security Benefits. We take care of people from cradle to grave.
This is NOT what the founding fathers wanted for this country.
Even the most liberal of our founders wanted a nation that supported the industriousness of the individual. They wanted the individual to have the right to build a business and to profit from it. When the government takes money from a business, and gives it to someone else, they are taking his or her hard work and encouraging others not to work.
Yes I understand this is not always the case.. .thus my comment that I am a compassionate conservative.
I do donate to charity and to churches. I am willing to help folks with no insurance and drop dollars and dimes into collection bottles.
I have no problem with helping a person whose life has not been fair, but I am not willing to enable some low life who wants to live life on crack and or smoking dope. (YES, I call marijuana dope, cause I see what it has done to people I love. A lifetime of smoking shit has created several marijuana dependent idiots in the family.) I realize that sounds harsh, and I realize alcohol does the same thing. If people could just smoke one a day no biggee.. but lets face it, I have never met a person who could just smoke one. I digress…
I saw my father work hard all his life. I thought that he was working for a company, but in looking back it was not until the confiscatory taxation of the 50’s and 60’s was decreased by Regan that my father actually prospered. He worked for the government not the company. Socialism just changes who you work for. Taxation does nothing but put the government in the position of distributing the wealth and that is NOT governments job.
Democrats want high taxes.
Democrats want government in charge of our lives.
Democrats want fairness… and they beat us over the head with it.
